To make the most of the application, you need to be aware that the setup of the hardware can be a little technical at times. If terms like Router, Fire Wall and X10 are unfamiliar to you, then this is maybe not the best product for you. We want our customers to be happy with their purchase.
Web Cameras We are currently supporting the Axis™ 207/207W web cameras. These have been voted one of the best, and most popular web cameras, and are available from many suppliers including our own Amazon™ affiliate SHOP page. In theory you can connect as many cameras as you like, but we recommend viewing only 1 or 2 simultaneously. Beyond that, and your device will struggle with the large amounts of live video. We may consider adding other cameras at a later date if there is enough customer demand. The Axis cameras are designed to connect directly to your home network. For the Axis 207 you can plug it directly into your internet router. The Axis 207W camera also allows you to make use of a wireless network. Temperature Monitoring For this option you'll require an ioBridge™ module available from the ioBridge Corporation (see SHOP). With a single module you can add up to a maximum of 4 temperature probes (3 if you add an X10 smart board). If you need more temperature sensors we recommend to buy additional ioBridge modules. Switching Appliances Again you'll need an ioBridge module, and also an ioBridge 'X10 smart board'. You can control many devices from a single X10 smart board. Also you are going to need an X10 controller to interface between the ioBridge smart board and your household electrics. Depending on how many appliances you wish to control, you'll also need an X10 module per appliance. Check the ‘X10 plug-in’ section in our amazon affiliate store.
